Investing in massage is an investment in your health!

Massage sessions may be relaxing and/or therapeutic in nature. You decide what your goals for each session will be, and we will work together towards that outcome! It is important to me that you always feel comfortable, so you will always determine the areas of your body to be worked, the amount of pressure to be applied, and the amount of clothing to be removed. Clothed sessions are always an option! Techniques to be used may include any of the following massage modalities:

Swedish Massage: This is the foundation for most types of massage, and is generally what comes to mind when most people think of massage. It consists of smooth, gliding strokes that aid in warming, softening, and flushing out muscle tissue. Swedish massage is usually lubricated work and is both relaxing and therapeutic.

Neuromuscular Release Therapy: Neuromuscular Release Therapy is therapeutic work that involves locating and releasing points of tension in muscles. These trigger points may be exquisitely tender, and may refer pain to areas of the body other than their specific location. Releasing trigger points may provide rapid and lasting relief from areas of acute discomfort.

Acupressure: This ancient art draws on thousands of years of Chinese medicine to address imbalances along energy meridians of the body. It utilizes the same points as acupuncture, but employs finger pressure instead of needles. Acupressure is an especially useful tool for tension that may be emotionally related.

Lymphatic Drainage: Promoting the movement of fluid and waste materials through the lymphatic system, this extremely light modality helps keep the immune system functioning optimally, aids in detoxification, reduces swelling/edema, and is useful in decreasing sinus pressure.

Craniosacral Therapy: Useful in helping to calm the central nervous system, this energetic modality uses a series of very light holds to facilitate extremely deep relaxation.
